Remember 'Dogs and Indians not allowed'?

Remember 'Dogs and Indians not allowed'?

This was the sign that would greet everyone walking past Pahartali European Club in Chittagong till late 1932.

That club was attacked and destroyed by a 21 year old, armed revolutionary girl and a team led by her on 23rd September, 1932.

The revolutionary was Ms Pritilata Waddedar (প্রীতিলতা ওয়াদ্দেদার). A close associate of Master Surya Sen, who famously freed Chittagong from the British for at least a few days and whose memory and deeds as well as those of his associates were meticulously erased from public memory by Gandhi and his Nehruvian acolytes.

Rather than face capture by British Police, Pritilata consumed potassium cyanide after fighting a pitched gun battle on the night of 23rd September, 1932.

Today, 5th May is her 106th Birth Anniversary.

Let us remember all those heroes and their sacrifice erstwhile Nehruvian maai baaps and their British benefactors would have us forget.

Jai Bharat! Pritilata Waddedar Amar Rahein..
